An interesting look at the artwork used to shape and design this movie

The behind-the-scenes pictures and concept art were amazing to see but the text was pretty thin and had more of an EPK quality to it than the dense look at the making of this complicated film that I was hoping for。 The Man of Steel art book that came out previous to this felt like it had a more substantive approach to the writing and chronicling of the projects development。Definitely worth checking out for the art but don't expect much else and you'll be happy。 The behind-the-scenes pictures and concept art were amazing to see but the text was pretty thin and had more of an EPK quality to it than the dense look at the making of this complicated film that I was hoping for。 The Man of Steel art book that came out previous to this felt like it had a more substantive approach to the writing and chronicling of the projects development。Definitely worth checking out for the art but don't expect much else and you'll be happy。 。。。more

I like

A great behind-the-scenes look at the film through concept and panel art。 I felt nostalgic to reading this despite the film coming out nearly three years ago。

Dennis Lynch

Nice art for a relentlessly ugly film。

Found this for $15 at a small independent bookstore and couldn't be happier。 Love these "Art of the Film" books, and there's much to love about BATMAN V SUPERMAN, the wildest and weirdest superhero blockbuster in years。 Found this for $15 at a small independent bookstore and couldn't be happier。 Love these "Art of the Film" books, and there's much to love about BATMAN V SUPERMAN, the wildest and weirdest superhero blockbuster in years。 。。。more

There are a few intrigue insights and early concept drawings, but this "Art of the Film" book is more an abbreviated making of the movie, general production book。 There are a few intrigue insights and early concept drawings, but this "Art of the Film" book is more an abbreviated making of the movie, general production book。 。。。more

Rating: BBatman v Superman was probably one of the worser superhero films out there。 That being said, one of the almost redeeming qualities of it for me was the incredible attention to detail and the mere scope of this amazing vision of both Gotham and Metropolis。 So, with the Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition being released soon, I thought I would do a review of this。As you might be able to tell, I was pretty excited for this book, based on one of my favourite aspects of the film。 'The Art Of Rating: BBatman v Superman was probably one of the worser superhero films out there。 That being said, one of the almost redeeming qualities of it for me was the incredible attention to detail and the mere scope of this amazing vision of both Gotham and Metropolis。 So, with the Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition being released soon, I thought I would do a review of this。As you might be able to tell, I was pretty excited for this book, based on one of my favourite aspects of the film。 'The Art Of The Film' is there, and what there is is great, but I just wish there was maybe a little bit more of it。 Maybe some more concept artwork over some of the stills of the film。 The other stuff is great as well, and you can tell that down to the layout of the Batcave that maybe Snyder wasn't to blame for it not being received very well。 It's a really nice book and a great sort of collector's item, but I just wish there was a little more artwork。Recommended: Yes 。。。more

I was expecting a lot more artwork then BTS photos, and it has more stills from the movies than actual artwork or bts photos。 Although the artwork that is in the book is pretty on-point。

Very nicely done book of the Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice。 Goes to each character, details on the batcave, batmobile and batwing。 Excellent pictures。

Batman v Superman wasn't an amazing movie。 On the other hand it did manage to be entertaining and I don't really agree with all the criticism it received。The art book for the movie is good, but it isn't great。 My main gripe is that it has a lot of photos and stills from the film, and not as much concept and production art as I would have liked。 What's ther is really good, I just wish there was more。 Batman v Superman wasn't an amazing movie。 On the other hand it did manage to be entertaining and I don't really agree with all the criticism it received。The art book for the movie is good, but it isn't great。 My main gripe is that it has a lot of photos and stills from the film, and not as much concept and production art as I would have liked。 What's ther is really good, I just wish there was more。 。。。more

I love this type of art book, it's always fascinating to see the concept designs and sketches for costumes, sets, and characters。 I wish there was more on Wonder Woman and work ups for the other characters who had cameos, but otherwise I have no complaints。 I love this type of art book, it's always fascinating to see the concept designs and sketches for costumes, sets, and characters。 I wish there was more on Wonder Woman and work ups for the other characters who had cameos, but otherwise I have no complaints。 。。。more

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice pits two iconic heroes against one another。 That premise, when combined with the visual talents of director Zack Snyder, promises to be a great looking film with lots of interesting design elements。 This book features concept art from the film and highlights the overall look of the film along with key design choices related to the characters。As an effective sequel to Man of Steel, Dawn of Justice maintains the design sensibilities of Snyder's previous Superman Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice pits two iconic heroes against one another。 That premise, when combined with the visual talents of director Zack Snyder, promises to be a great looking film with lots of interesting design elements。 This book features concept art from the film and highlights the overall look of the film along with key design choices related to the characters。As an effective sequel to Man of Steel, Dawn of Justice maintains the design sensibilities of Snyder's previous Superman film。 The film very much wants to look and feel like the real world, with sites like the US Capitol making an appearance。 The fictional city of Metropolis looks much like our own modern-day urban population centers - with Lexcorp HQ Tower looming large in the skyline。The wold of Batman, on the other hand, is a bit more stylized。 Gotham is as dark and dismal as it's ever been。 Because this is Batman's first appearance in this story (The Dark Knight trilogy is not considered part of this "universe"), the designers were able to start from scratch and do something。 Snyder and his team succeeding in creating a Batman that is differentiated from all the others that have come before。 The book also features Batman's many gadgets and weapons, his mech suit, as well as the Batmobile and Batwing。The book also takes a brief look at the other characters in the film - Lex Luthor, Doomsday, and of course Wonder Woman。 The challenge across the board was to take inspiration from the comics, but make the designs unique and interesting for the big screen。 A few key scene in the film are also detailed, including the fight between Batman & Superman, and also the Knightmare sequence。The imagery in the book is outstanding。 It's mostly sketches and conceptual artwork。 But there are also some production photos and some stills from the completed movie。 If you are interested in this film and enjoy Snyder's visual style, then you'll probably enjoy this book。Review for MovieArtBook。com 。。。more

A nice big sumptous art book with both lovely photos, drawings, stills and storyboards from the film。 Every major character has their own chapter, and there is a little bit of text and quotes from the filmmakers about it as well。 My only real gripe is that some of the art looks rather sketchy, especially the laughable storyboards, which look like children's drawings。 Did Zack jot those down himself in two seconds, and couldn't he have handed them over to a professional artist? Would have loved more concept artwork on level with the Force Awakens art book, but I will still treasure this as a favourite in my collection。 After all, I've hopefully scored myself one of the limited edition signed copies come May。 Would have loved more concept artwork on level with the Force Awakens art book, but I will still treasure this as a favourite in my collection。 After all, I've hopefully scored myself one of the limited edition signed copies come May。 。。。more
